RISING
DAMP
Untitled design (13).png

Rising damp can occur when the existing damp proof course (DPC) has failed due to a deterioration over time or if the outside ground level becomes higher then the DPC installed within the wall.

Rising Damp typically affects the colouration and integral strength of the plaster which can make a room smell “damp” and unsightly. It can also spread further along to adjoining walls if not treated in a timely manner.

We utilize different methods to rectify rising damp such as installing a chemical injection to create a new damp proof course, DPC membrane or Safeguards Tanking System.

CONDENSATION
CONTROL
A-Beginners-Guide-to-Black-Spot-Mould-–-Causes-Problems-and-Solutions.jpg

Condensation issues typically arise in the colder months due to the outside temperatures becoming lower and indoors temperatures becoming higher. This often creates a dew point around the windows and external facing walls and if left over time, this can cause water oversaturation. Signs of water oversaturation are flaky paint, bubbling plaster and crumbling mortar between bricks.

Unfortunately, it's not only seasonal temperatures that contribute to condensation issues, it can also be down to living conditions and poor airflow.

WOODWORM

The common furniture beetle or common house borer (Anobium punctatum) is a woodboring beetle originally from Europe. It is now the most common wood boring beetle in the UK.

Typical evidence of an active woodworm infestation are 1 mm to 3 mm exit holes with sawdust nearby.
